Shafiq is the current President of Next Generation Technologies (www.ngxuganda.com), a digital agency that helps businesses transform and transition on to the Digital Space by turning ideas into reality and business problems into solutions. Some of the solutions developed by the firm include: – Stock Management Systems, Inventory Management systems, Event Management Systems, Point of Sale software, Hotel booking systems, Customer Relationship Management system, Restaurant Point of Sale Systems, Hotel Point of Sale System, Project Management Tools, Bootstrap Templates, HTML 5 Templates, WordPress Plugins and WordPress Themes, Mobile Applications and Payment Solutions.
He has been privileged to be a speaker on WordPress related events at various international conferences including the CMS Africa Summit in Kigali, Word Camp Kampala, Word Camp Nairobi, Word Camp Entebbe, and WordPress Meetups at innovation hubs.
Shafiq has built on top of WordPress for more than ten years, from the Classic Editor, to Gutenberg to now Elementor Pro.
He currently works with the Uganda’s leading institution in the Water Sector, which has won a great deal of accolades and awards in digital services provision, National Water & Sewerage Corporation.
Shafiq holds an MSc. In Information Systems from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda, and a BSc. in Computer Science from the same institution, that have given him a strong background in Digital Transformation of Businesses, from Kampala to as far as Daejeon in Korea.
In 2021, working with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, he developed a model for assessing electronic service quality of e-services in Uganda in order to improve government MDAs’ efficiency and effectiveness ( https://qualityassessmentofeservices.com ).
